La Vie, C'est Folle

Well here we are - entering the latter half of summer 2009. Arguably we may be well into the latter half granted that we're no more than 10 days away from August and Wal-Mart's been running back-to-school commercials already.

Thus far, my summer's consisted largely of school, work, and cheap wine. I'm planning on stocking up on some dirt cheap Gato Negro this weekend when I get paid. $4 for a bottle of Merlot Cabernet. Are you kidding me? It's brilliant.

As we speak, I think it funny how much life has changed in the last year and how much it's stayed the same. I'm currently looking at applying for a French Masters program for next fall and needing to take my GRE. Bon dieu - je sais. This seems a little too much too soon, but ultimately I'm excited to look forward and imagine where I could be a year from now.

Before I get too far into that, however, I have more immediate concerns - like finishing biology, finishing my new novel (which is actually fairly on target right now), working on my French honours thesis, etc. As for the novel, my target date to have it complete is the middle of August. Slightly later than I had initially imagined, but this is largely for the simple fact that I have biology until the beginning of the month. Not that biology is so pressing a time constraint, but I know where the novel ends and I would like to be there when I'm finishing it and I just don't have the time to get away what with this class still on-going and work besides.

Apart from that, this potential trip (so long as my parents don't quash it - the joys of living at home) could also mean a chance to visit a potential grad school and, besides all that, take some photos in a part of the United States that I've never seen before. I've been so lazy with my photography here, it's really apalling. Hopefully this will be a good chance to redeem myself. Qui sais? Bientot on verra.

This fall is going to be extremely busy, so I'm counting on squeezing all that I can out of life for the next month and a half. More on that later, peut-etre.

A bientot. Ciao!
